A 40-year-old pedestrian is dead after a hit-and-run in Brampton early yesterday morning.
Motorists called police to Bovaird Dr. E. near Conestoga Dr. around 5:50 a.m. The man was lying on the road in the westbound lanes, roughly 200 metres from the intersection.
He was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries. He was identified as Mandeep Bhagtana, a Brampton resident and married father of two children.
A portion of the driver's side-view mirror from the vehicle that hit him was left behind.
Police said they did not have a description of the vehicle or any suspects, but said they can trace the vehicle based on the piece of the mirror.
Police were appealing for witnesses and the driver to contact them.
"We're hoping the driver will come forward, it's in their best interest," said Const. Wayne Patterson of Peel Regional Police. "We understand it was dark out, the weather was inclement, it was pouring rain."
Anyone with information can call Peel Region police at 905-453-2121 ext. 3710. Crime Stoppers accepts anonymous tips at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

This is one of the many things I don't understand human beings. We create problems and leave them to others. We don't take responsibility for our actions. This cowardice displayed by this man shows that like most criminals he is scared. He isn't scared like criminals who commit crime intentionally but rather in another way. He is scared of being held accountable. He couldn't bear watch the man suffer as a result of his actions. This display of cowardice resulted in the death of the man. This man could have waited and maybe the man could have been treated sooner. Where will our lack of accountability take us next still has yet to be seen

This is horrible, a pedestrian that has nothing to do with what is happening in the street dies.
The pedestrian died because he reached the hospital too late.

The man who has died in this accident has 2 children. Can you even imagine how his kids must have felt when they've receieved the news that their beloved father died? Accidents like this happen every single day,and it shows how disrespectful some people in this world are. If this man is caught, he should recieve a life sentence.

What is the point of a hit and run. When you hit and run, it makes the runner look like a sissy. What is the point of killing this man, what did he ever do? Was it just an accident? Why does this ha ve to happen to a man who was not even expecting it? I really feel bad for the man who deid because of the hit and runner, I feel really bad for the dead man's two children, they say good bye to their father waiting for him to come back home and boom, they get the news saying,
"Your father haas died."

people should be more responsible for their actions. now that the childrens father is dead they must be heart broken. these people need to be accountable for what they do. I think people should be more careful and take responsibility in their actions
